Legal Information & Advocacy Program

The Vernon Women's Centre Legal Advocacy Program provides legal information, support, referrals, and representation to people in Vernon and outlying rural communities. Our Legal Advocate works with government agencies and other service providers to ensure that men & women have access to housing, financial supports, legal and mental health resources, and are treated fairly in their interactions with government, the courts, and the community. May be able to refer clients for will preparation. The Legal Information and Advocacy Program is open: Monday - Wednesday (for women only) at the Vernon Women's Centre 9:30am - 12:00 and 1:00 - 4:00 pm Thursday (open to everyone) at the North Okanagan Youth & Family Services (NOYFS) 9:30 am - 12:00 and 1:00 - 4:00 pm Services include Income Assistance (refusals, reconsideration requests, health benefits, appeals, disabilities, daycare, other) and Landlord/Tenant (security deposits, rent increases, eviction notices, other)
